The WRX was the car I bought to replace The White Dragon aka 1995 Pontiac Grand Prix SE. The WRX in my opinion was the first car I got that really made me like driving. The Grand Prix was fun in a goofy sort of way but nothing like the WRX. It is also the first car that taught me the joys of modifying cars for more power (forget handling, it handled well enough and power is fun and cheap in a turboed car). I loved this car, however, when I drove my dad’s BMW 540i/sport with a 6-speed transmission, I knew I needed a different car. There was also the whole issue with the WRX becoming an accident magnet because parents were buying their just-got-their-driver’s license kid a WRX who’d promptly go out and put the car into a tree or someone else’s garage at a high rate of speed. So the WRX got traded in for the BMW M5.
Somewhere I still might have all the records for the WRX. If I find them, I’ll post them up here. However, the WRX was a great car in terms of maintenance it was completely trouble free and the money I spent on it was for a Cobb Tuning AccessPort and a nice turbo-back exhaust which I don’t think I spent more than $1500 on total.
