How to lose a job via Twitter

So, I saw this on Digg and found it absolutely hilarious.  Some person accepted a job at Cisco then tweets about it with the following comment:

Cisco just offered me a job! Now I have to weigh the utility of a fatty paycheck against the daily commute to San Jose and hating the work.

Remember that this is on Twitter and it was in public view… you can already guess what happened – a response from a Cisco employee, with the following:

Who is the hiring manager. I’m sure they would love to know that you will hate the work. We here at Cisco are versed in the web.

I’m sure that there is some cautionary tale here, but really… you’re going to go to work for a company that makes hardware that helps run the Internet.  Do you really think that everyone there is oblivious to Twitter and don’t even look at the web?

Edit: The person responsible said they already turned the job offer down before posting the tweet according to this article.  Do I believe it?  I have no clue.  Either way, use your noggin before doing something everyone can see on the Internet.
